87-100% OFF Insulation for eligible homeowners*
"Warmer Kiwi Homes" offers 87-100% OFF Insulation costs for eligible pre-2008 homes.
"Warmer Kiwi Homes" is the new 4 year government's EECA Energywise programme offering grants covering 87-100% of the costs of ceiling and underfloor insulation and ground vapour barriers for eligible low income homeowners in limited regions.
Funding is available in the South Auckland, limited Hawke's Bay region, Gisborne, and Dunedin City, Waitaki, and Central Otago districts. These regions have had extra funding from local charitable trusts to help homeowners in the area who without funding, may not insulate their home.
To be eligible for a grant you will need to:
- be the occupying homeowner with a valid Community Services Card or SuperGold combo card; OR
- own and be living in a home in an area identified as lower-income (details to follow) OR
- be referred by the Healthy Homes Initiative, AND
- own a home built before 2008.
The programme started 1st July 2018 and targets specific low income households in limited regions only.
Register your interest today and we'll check if you're eligible and let you know what other financial support you may be entitled to.
What about Rental properties? There is no funding for rental properties in the new "Warmer Kiwi Homes" programme. Subsidies for landlords concluded in the current Warm Up New Zealand programme which ended 30 June 2018. Read about other finance options for landlords.
